Carnivores, herbivores and omnivores

As part of the unit of inquiry the class learnt about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and used their research skills to classify different animals. We started by looking at a Venn diagram and exploring how it is used to show information:

After discussing the meaning of carnivore, herbivore and omnivore the children then paired up and created their own Venn diagram. They researched, using books and/or kidrex, a range of animals that interested them and arranged them on their diagram. Some examples can be seen below:
