The students then looked at their first attempts at nonfiction texts and compared them to this list. They discovered that they were missing quite a few of these features! Following this we made a checklist of features to include in a second attempt at a nonfiction text. The students will be working on these over the coming weeks.</div>

Finally, the students returned to their lists from earlier in the lesson. Having seen lots of different living things many of the students changed their initial ideas (you can see these edits on the pictures above in coloured pencil).</div>

Having watched some highlights from the games, the class were shown the medal table. We discussed how the medal table is ordered according to the number of gold medals won.
